We are Alexandra and Alexander and we both enjoy cooking .

Alexandra is Mexican-American, with her Mexican roots coming from the highlands of the state of Jalisco.

Alexander is Swiss-British and grew up in the eastern part of Switzerland next to the beautiful Swiss Alps.

Fate brought us together and the love for food and the Mexican culture led us to start a Youtube channel and this blog.
It was not always easy for Alexandra to adapt to a life far from home (expat life rarely is). This motivated Alexandra to create the Facebook group “Mexicanas en el Mundo” and our Youtube channel.
The Facebook group connects Mexican women abroad and also connected us with many Mexicans in Switzerland. There are more Mexicans in Switzerland than we were aware of!
We planted chilies and tomatillos on our balcony. After several questions from Mexicans around the world on how to grow plants, we started the Youtube channel, as it’s easier to answer questions in a video than in writing.

With the video sharing being a success we took a go at sharing our biggest passion which is cooking.
The best part about any dish is to share it with others and see the joy the food brings to their face.
